 Hi. My name is Sven Ramklint. In 1963 I came from Sweden to Chicago to take some special courses. I soon fell in love with the wonderful lifestyle of America and decided to change my profession and stay. After a few years in art school, I got into the window treatment business as a window fashion consultant at a downtown department store. A couple of years later I was invited to lead the work of a company that specialized in window treatment R & D and the fabrication of unique window fashion for larger commercial accounts. After two very exciting years, I purchased a part of the company and formed a new company dedicated to using some of the special ideas we had developed, for home use.It was very successful, and the company grew to have several locations around Chicago, and also stores in Arizona and California. We often were first to introduce new ideas both in soft window fashion, and in new kinds of blinds and shades. After a few years as Innkeepers in Wisconsin, my wife Newell and I have now closed or sold all the old operations and moved to the beautiful Connecticut River Valley. It occurred to us, that with our huge involvement in the window treatment business, we would be able to help new customers to find the best idea, and guide them to the most advantageous price. In this day and age, many companies are offering deals appearing too good to turn down, until you look at the fine print or ask the right question. By having a minimum of overhead, and solid connections on the manufacturing side, we believe that we can offer as good a price on familiar products as anybody, but with service and attention to details much beyond what is common. We also have given special attention to child safety that we think need much more consideration if you have children or pets. Some of the ideas on the Hunter Douglas site are very good and practical, but we also have other ideas to suggest.
